Volunteer

LUCHA's success depends on the support of our wonderful LUCHA families.

Please visit LUCHA's office to start the volunteer process.  Once the online intake form is complete, you will be asked to complete a $49 background check and TB clearance/test.

Seeing what our parents have in store for our LUCHA leaders every year is exciting! Our parents make magic happen on campus, motivating our students' excitement for learning at LUCHA!

Here is an overview of our volunteer expectations and procedures:

Our school expects all families to complete at least 30 parent volunteer hours over the year for each student enrolled in LUCHA.  The administrative staff tracks these hours, and parents are updated on their progress toward the goals in November, January, and April.  Please remember that you are responsible for logging your volunteer time in the Parent Volunteer Binder in the front office or online using this submission link pasted in every weekly ParentSquare LUCHA Ledger.

For whole-school events, please sign in (by changing your name on Zoom or scanning our QR code at in-person events) to get your volunteer hours!

Parents, are you looking for ways to fulfill your parent volunteer requirements?

1) Our weekly Parent Square LUCHA Ledgers inform you of all the events happening virtually or in person!

2) Become involved in our Parent Leader Group! (Meetings are held online on Zoom on the third Tuesday of every month at 5:30 pm)

3) Participate in our Los Dichos Program, where parents read books in Spanish and English to students, which sends a strong message!

4)  Ask your child's teacher for specific ways you can help in the classroom!

5)  Participate in an educational experience with your child outside of school and bring some documentation to the office (a photo from the museum and a receipt from the library).  *Note that only two hours can be given per event, and only up to five hours out of your 30-hour requirement can be completed this way)
